the question.

When Martha's brother dies, Jesus brings him back into life. But this conversation happens before He brings him back to life. Jesus asks Martha one significant question...

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

"Yes, Lord," she told him, "I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world." - John 11:25-27

This question is so much deeper than the eyes can see. The death is also about Martha's HEART. Jesus is asking Martha if she really believes in HIM. Jesus is concerned about her faith.

Jesus is NOT a vending machine. He wants a relationship with Martha. It's not only a, "Give me, give me," relationship.

What kind of relationship do we have with God? Do we have a selfish, "Give me, give me," relationship? Or is it one like a Father and his child where we trust that the Father loves us? Will I trust that he will take care of me and the people that I love? And lastly, are we having actual conversations with Him --- in prayer?
